'Merlin' Great Western Railway locomotive No 3260 0001-3622

Acrylic painting by Peter Bird, signed and dated 1984, showing 'Merlin', a 4-4-0 steam locomotive built in 1895 for the Great Western Railway (GWR). The locomotive is depicted emerging from a tunnel on the approach to Dainton Summit, just south of Newton Abbot in Devon. A woman in a white dress watches the passage of the train from the bank of the cutting. Giclee Prints are printed on heavy matte finish 180gsm German art paper using the finest Canon archival inks. Entry Level Art Prints are printed on 250Ggsm satin paper. Quality Frame with a single white matboard and Acrylic glazing.
