Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote rail travel to the city of Edinburgh, Scotland via the East Coast route. The poster shows two fashionably dressed couples standing beside the famous 14th century 'Mons Meg' cannon, outside Edinburgh castle. The buildings of the city are seen in the background. Artwork by Frank Newbould (1887-1951), who studied at Bradford College of Art and joined the War Office in 1942. He designed posters for the LNER (London & North Eastern Railway), GWR (Great Western Railway), Orient Line and Belgian Railways.
