Though it would appear to promote a wine originating from the French town pin-spotted on the golden-orange globe at the feet of the ecstatic courier, this poster is actually an advertisement for a Chablis-based cooperative of wine producers. Founded in 1923, La Chablisienne collects and vinifies the production of about a dozen Domaines, with an emphasis placed on the originality of each individual vineyard. As a testimony to the enduring quality of le Monnier's design, it is used as a central graphic image for the associations website (www.chablisienne.com). The artist created a large body of posters for films and commercial products during the period from 1924 to 1954, but little biographical information on him remains. Giclee Prints are printed on heavy matte finish 180gsm German art paper using the finest Canon archival inks. Entry Level Art Prints are printed on 250Gsm satin paper. Quality Frame with a single white matboard and Acrylic glazing.

.
