A poster for a week of sports events to benefit Red Cross aid for prisoners of war. Given the date and place, the prisoners in question must be French soldiers, captured either by the Germans in 1940 and for some reason not returned after Frances defeat, or while fighting with the Germans subsequently, as a goodly number did, on the Russian front or in North Africa. A strong poster from an Art Deco master whose career long outlived Art Deco, indeed, continued into the 1980s
