Moody and evocative, this haunting Hohenstein design, produced as a promotion for a triennial Fine Arts exposition in Milan, is utterly captivating. The image of the quartet high atop a seaside cliff, appearing to reveal itself through the extravagant gray Art Nouveau swirl of flat color that serves as background for the text as if it were emerging from a clearing in the mist, is unforgettable. It borders on a nearly allegorical parable of the hazards of possession, as the woman elevates her object of beauty while grasping a companions hands near a patch of thorns. Hohenstein excellently manipulates light and shadow to evoke an atmosphere both reverent and wary. Giclee Prints are printed on heavy matte finish 180gsm German art paper using the finest Canon archival inks. Entry Level Art Prints are printed on 250Gsm satin paper. Quality Frame with a single white matboard and Acrylic glazing.
