A beautiful senorita holds a cordial glass while leading her simian friend by the hand in this award-winning Casas design for the beverageE?E?whose name literally translates as Monkey BittersE?E?which took first prize in the 1897 poster contest sponsored by the Vincente Bosch firm for their liqueur. Casas, a Spanish publisher and posterist, was the art director of the Catalan weekly Pet et Ploma. His graphic work is deeply marked by the influence of both Cheret and Toulouse-Lautrec. This is the rare, smaller format.
