This charming poster, by an artist of whom no knowledge is available, advertises a circus that is the oldest and (yet) the newest and that features an amusing collection of monkeys. The simian stars cavort in a tropical rainforest with a loinclothed native running through. The claim is quite correct. Theodore Rancy founded the oldest French circus dynasty when he established his own company in Rouen in 1856. After his death in 1892, the troupe was taken over by his son Alphonse Rancy and, for a time, by Alphonses brother Napoleon. But, Napoleon struck out on his own in 1910. Giclee Prints are printed on heavy matte finish 180gsm German art paper using the finest Canon archival inks. Entry Level Art Prints are printed on 250Gsm satin paper. Quality Frame with a single white matboard and Acrylic glazing.

.
