Tamagno executed a number of posters for this Bicycle manufacturer in Dijon and in each of them created a simple, yet eloquent, action scene. Here we are given a fetching lass out for a late afternoon tour of the countryside. As she turns back to catch a glimpse of the magnificent sunset bathing the surroundings in a luscious autumnal glow, she gleefully notices that she is effortlessly outdistancing both a motoring couple and a gent in a flying machine! Quite an endorsement for Terrot and the freedom which its products bring. Terrot bikes were successful enough during the 1890s, but the firm really came into its own with motorcycles as of 1901, remaining in business until the 1960s with one of the best makes in France.
