Galant, indeed. This leggy chorine on a swing beckoning us into ""The Naughty Revue"" playing at Paris Variety Theater would seem to have little to do with chivalry. But the title of the upscale girlie show has a little French twist that would be lost on the non-francophone: Though most certainly a moniker of the courteous gentleman, when used in relation to womankind, ""galant"" pertains to what can politely be referred to as a kept woman. A classic slice of cheesecake from the artist who in many ways gave birth to the pinup girl. Born the son of a police officer and a housewife who hoped to raise their son for a career in the military, Brenot would go on to create hundreds of designs that would virtually define the female form in the public eye during the 1950s and 60s. His designs simply revel in the pursuit of elusive female perfection without a shred of malice or a trace of the apologetic.
